About

A math tutor built by a student who wanted one that said no.

theoremEd is made by Andrew Farca, a high school student, who built it because the choice on offer was to stare at a problem for an hour or copy an answer you don't understand, and neither one teaches you anything.

Why it exists

Every student now has AI that can finish a problem set in seconds. The homework gets handed in, and the gap shows up on the test. Blocking it hasn't worked, so theoremEd takes the other route: the same technology, built to find where you got lost and then make you take the step yourself.

The answer is never the point

theoremEd will check an answer you worked out, but it will not give you one, however you ask. There is no setting that turns that off.

Your work stays yours

No account, no name, no email, no ads and no tracking. The record of what you've worked on lives on your own computer, and you can delete it any time. The privacy policy says exactly what is sent and why.

Free should mean useful

The free tier has every feature and doesn't expire. Paid plans, when they open, buy more questions, not a better tutor.

How it works

theoremEd runs on Chrome (including school Chromebooks) and on the Mac. When you ask it something, it looks at the problem on your screen and sends it to theoremEd's server, which uses Anthropic's Claude to write the reply under strict tutoring instructions. Screenshots are not stored.
